Elden Ring Nightreign revealed as the next game in the Elden Ring series at the 2025 Game Awards.

Just when you thought it was all over we have a new Elden Ring title coming in 2025. So what do we know about the game so far? Well, we do know this is not Elden Ring as you may know it. This is a much faster-paced rogue-like featuring three-player co-op. Here are  the main points that have been revealed so far and note there is a network test coming in the not-too-distant future. Elden Ring Nightreign Game Premise and Features

  • Maximum of 3-player co-op but can be played solo.
  • This is a spin-off from Elden Ring with its own adventure set in a parallel universe called Limveld.
  • Players will have to survive three day and night cycles.
  • Each day cycle will only last 15 minutes.
  • Make it to the end to the end of the day and players will face the Night Tide, which shrinks the map.
  • Before a run, players will choose one of eight final bosses they will face at the end of day three,
  • Assuming you get to the end of Day three, you will battle then battle the boss to earn powerful relics to use on your next run.
  • Players will fight a mini-boss at the end of the first two days.
  • Although the map will remain the same in layout, the contents will vary with each run with randomized enemy encounters, different ruins etc.
  • There are eight pre-made characters with cut-down customization.
  • Each character will have a unique skill and Ultimate attack.
  • Players can wall-jump
  • There’s no fall damage
  • There’s no weight management.
  • New gear is acquired from drops or chests.
  • Character customization comes from Loot and relics found while playing.
  • Weapons will have level requirements.
  • Players can hold three weapons per hand.
  • Roundtable Hold serves as a central hub between sessions. Here, players can equip their relics (3 per character), practice combat, and buy cosmetics and emotes with in-game currency.
  • If you die, other players can bring you back to life within a time limit by attacking you. During the day, if you die and the timer runs out you respawn with one level of progression removed.
  • If all three players die during an end-of-day boss fight, all will have to restart back at day one and at level 1.
  • There are no microtransactions.
  • A network test of Elden Ring Nightreign will be run in February offering a taste of the game and a page is up for that now with registrations taking place from 10 January.
  • This is not a free-to-play game. It will cost but not as much as Elden Ring.
  • It is a standalone release and does not require Elden Ring.
  • The release is a vague 2025.

Known Characters

  • Wylder – An all-rounder with a claw shot to pull in small enemies or attach to larger ones. Utimate is Wedge of Invasion which is a charges explosive attack.
  • Guardian – Tanky with a skill called Whirlwind which knocks back and causes damage. Ultimate is Wings of Severance which leaps in the air and divebombs on the target dealing damage.
  • Duchess – Speedy with fast attacks and the skill Restage which re-deals the last few seconds of damage. Ultimate is Finale which turn you and your allies invisible for a period of time.
  • Recluse – A mage class with a skill called Magical Cocktail which collects damage attributes applied to an enemy and when three are stored a special attack is unleashed depending on what was stored. Ultimate is Song of the Blood Souls which marks all nearby enemies and healing is returned to your allies while they attack.
