UPDATE- Elden Ring servers following the RCE exploit
Recently an RCE exploit was found in Dark Souls 3, in response to this FromSoftware took all the servers for Dark Souls 1,2, and 3 offline on the 23rd of January, today we have an update on the situation.
In their latest tweet, FromSoftware confirms they “have identified the cause and are working on fixing the issue”, they also state they “extended their investigation to Elden Ring” and “have made sure the necessary security measures are in place”.
It looks like all servers should be up and running for Elden Ring on launch day and more importantly they should be safe for all players to enjoy Multiplayer, however, online services for the Dark Souls series will remain offline until further notice.
